El BAÑO
Diseñar el baño al igual que muchas otras zonas de la construcción fue todo un reto, principalmente por la solución de las instalaciones hidrosanitarias que, al no ser un edificio nuevo, implicaba adaptarnos a las salidas y entradas existentes.
La idea detrás del diseño del baño era crear por un lado algo que se viera escultórico y por otro, que se pudiera ocultar todo lo que no fuera necesario para mantenerlo visualmente lo más limpio posible. Sobre todo si tomamos en cuenta que, por cuestiones de espacio, tenía que compartir el área con el cuarto de servicio.
Así, mientras el diseño le da importancia visual al área de la regadera (que se buscó acentuar con un muro monolítico justo al centro del espacio), el cuarto de servicio y área de lavado quedó oculto detrás de unas puertas tipo closet.
El lavamanos fue un experimento muy interesante para nosotros, ya que, si bien se pudo haber comprado uno prefabricado, decidimos probar creando uno que se ajustara perfectamente a nuestras medidas. Así, con una silla, libros y maderas, probamos hasta encontrar la altura que a nuestro parecer, se adaptaba mejor a nuestras necesidades.
En cuanto a la cuestión técnica, si bien para este caso se tuvo que contratar los servicios de especialistas que se encargaran de la mano de obra de calidad, El diseño, solución y supervisión de las mismas se tuvo que llevar a cabo por nuestra parte. Por lo que elaboraron planos esquemáticos de cuantas y cuales tipos de tuberías, conexiones, salidas y alturas se tenía que dejar antes de empezar a construir.
THE BATHROOM
Designing the bathroom, like many other areas of the construction, was quite a challenge, mainly due to the solution of the hydro-sanitary installations, which, not being a new building, involved adapting to the precise outputs and inputs.
The idea behind the bathroom design was to create on the one hand something that would look sculptural and on the other, it could hide everything that was not necessary to keep it visually as clean as posible. Especially if we take into account that, for space reasons, it had to share the area with the utility room.
Thus, while the design gives visual importance to the shower area (which was sought to accentuate with a monolithic wall right in the center of the space), the utility room and laundry area were hidden behind closet doors.
The sink was a very interesting experiment for us, since although we could have bought a prefabricated one, we decided to try creating one that perfectly fit our measurements. Thus, with a chair, books and wood, we tried until we found the height that, in our opinion, best suited our needs.
As for the technical matter, although in this case the services of specialists had to be hired to take care of quality of the work, the design, solution and supervision had to be carried out by us. So, we made schematic plans of how many and what types of pipes, connections, exits and heights had to be left before starting to build.
